The cost varies based on the type of system and the drain field being the main consideration. 

We can give you a rough estimate of the cost. Some of the factors affecting the price are the type of system, whether we able to use the current tank and the county you are located in. However, there are a couple of steps that need to be completed first. 

You can get the permit. Or, if you prefer, we can handle the permit process for you. However, getting a permit is just the first step. 

Sorry to slow you down.  Once you have the permit, the county health department schedules a time to come out to perform a site evaluation often referred to as a perk test. This determines what type of soil you have and the type of septic system you are allowed to install on the property. It sets the parameters as far as the square footage required, tank size and drainage requirements.
We can assist with the soils sample (perk test sample) as it requires digging to a reasonable depth. Some people refer to this as soil samples, backhoe cut, or perk test. 

It is recommended to get your septic system pumped every 3-5 years, or more frequently if issues arise.
